Elena Biserna workshop : Walking from Scores
03/10/2020 - 04/10/2020

Onze verontschuldigingen, dit bericht is alleen beschikbaar in Engels.

The workshop is open to artists, musicians, performers, students and anyone wishing to explore the relationships between sound, listening and the everyday sphere, the potential of walking in urban space, as well as an expanded notion of notation from a post-disciplinary perspective. The program is organized in several theoretical and practical sessions focused on walking, on listening on the move and on itinerant performance. Participants are invited to re-enact the collection, to intervene in the (environmental, institutional, social…) context, to bring into play their body in space, to practice listening as relationship to others and the world, to engage in collective action, to reflect on the aesthetics and politics of sound in urban space… No musical or performative skill is required, but a collaborative and explorative attitude is necessary.

Day 1 (10h – 18h)
• Theoretical and historical introduction: Walking from Scores’ foundations.
• Expanded notation: graphic and verbal scores, openness, indetermination
• Walking as relationship: theoretical vectors between urban anthropology,
cultural studies, sociology, urban studies and politics.
• The city as a music to go through: listening on the move between acoustic ecology, art practices and sound studies
• Exploration of Molenbeek and the area around Q-O2
• Scores for walking and listening: individual and collective performances, discussion

Day 2 (10h – 18h)
• Playing the city: ambulatory performances and sound tactics in urban space
• Scores: collective performances and discussion

The workshop will result in a public performance where some of the scores selected collectively according to the context will be re-enacted.

30€ (20€ students) for the two days, lunch included. Participation for only one day is not possible. Registration to julia@q-o2.be.
