Text/Space/Architecture (TSA) – workshop students of KULeuven/Cultural Studies
24/04/2016 - 12:00 - 18:00

Onze verontschuldigingen, dit bericht is alleen beschikbaar in Engels.

Text/Space/Architecture (TSA) is a facilitator-led creative writing workshop exploring the connections between public/private spaces and the production of written text. Participants will be led through a series of writing exercises centered outside a conventional writing environment. Armed with notebooks, writers will leave the comfort of their desks, to explore different parts of the city, finding inspiration in the activities of public space, architecture, and the social relationships that take place there.

The session will consist of discussions and writing exercises with the option for participants to share their writing at various points with the group. Attendance for the entire session is required. The process will begin with a discussion. Participants will then depart to explore the city/neighbourhood and engage in writing exercises provided by the facilitator.

Following this, the group will reconnect to explore alternate methodologies to work with the text that has been created. The main goal is to explore writing exercises that can be adapted to either existing or new writing projects, rather than to complete or develop an existing project through the workshop. The workshop is centered on the practice of ‘free writing’; creating text through a stream of consciousness, rather than with specific goals or themes in mind.
