My current research extends the themes explored in my previous project ‘Minor Noise,’ which delved into transmission, auditory reminiscence, and sonic imprints, focusing on what is physically internalized rather than verbally communicated. I now carry on the exploration of metabolization, turning my attention on the intricate fabric of emotions and expressions resonating within the outlet space of the dance-floor. Dissecting the raw sensations that pulse within the club — where oblivion and expression coalesce, I’m interested to look at how remixing becomes the sonic conduit for profound emotional release, spanning the spectrum from euphoria to melancholy. Rearranging and altering original content, merging genres, juxtaposing aesthetics, fluctuating tempos and tonalities, this research strives to unfold how the remix can act as a catalyst for disruption and challenge within prevailing narratives. In essence, the remix is a sonic rebellion. Through a process of composition and live improvisation, I intend to form a language inspired by the remix features offering an avenue for catharsis and allowing to process repressed feelings or feelings of oppression.
