Distances Bending is an ever-expanding process –  a building up, distilling and mirroring of materials particular to each artist’s sonic practices, responding to and inhabiting a space over multiple hours or days.  During the residency, the artists will develop the sonic and visual materials that will inform an environmental system in which the artists can perform inside, but  which has a life force or choreography of its own. Developing a repeated time structure, a temporal loop that is altered by upwardly expanding frequencies (plucked from the harmonic series), instruments (whose size, timbre and shape correspond to these frequencies), various filtering bodies (found & electronic) and changing light, they aim to create a subtle space where perception can be transformed.
