In January 2012 Stephen Cornford and Ben Gwilliam each began to take apart a tape recorder down to its individual components, cataloguing them and sending them in the post to one another. Each part received is then used to perform a single sound-producing action, momentarily re-animating fragments of dead and dismantled media. During their residency they will explore and reconfigure these sound materials, physical processes and deconstructed technologies which have formed the basis of their ongoing collaboration.
