MOSHPIT
The moshpit is a cluster of people gathered in front of the stage at concerts. In the moshpit the audience dance energetically and push against each other, jumping up and down. You might know it as “pogo”. The moshpit is a ritual space for fans and affiliates. A condensation of energy and ecstasy. In the moshpit, generally perceived as rather masculine, white and violent, there is also a form of care being performed: a physical game of pushing away and catching each other, a dance between alertness and loss of control, physical collision and bodily sensation, between mental spaces and possible worlds.
During her stay at Q-O2 Louise Vind Nielsen is diving into the moshpit, which is the conceptual and artistic focal point of her research. This evening she presents her work and invites us to listen… and to mosh a bit!
