Born in Lithuania, based in Brussels: composer and sound artist Marija Rasa explores in her practice sonic spatialisation, texture, and fragility. Since her studies at the Institute of Sonology, she has been working on pieces and performances for multichannel speaker setups where she uses de-constructed recordings from quiet environments, attentively sculpted into new fictional soundscapes interweaved with electronic sounds, delicate noise, and spoken word, through the use of the micro-montage approach.
