Mariana Carvalho is pianist, improviser, performer and soundartist, keen on body, space and gender. She’s interested in weaving sonic relations in space, inner and outer resonances, installations, expanded sonic bodies, free improvisation, video, dance, voice. She experiments objects inside and outside the piano and explores corporealities via eutony. She’s part of Sonora – músicas e feminismos network, NuSom – Research Centre on Sonology of the University of São Paulo and Orquestra Errante – free improvisation group. She did the piano bachelor’s degree at the University of São Paulo. She has played in Argentina, Brasil, Chile, Germany, Mexico, Portugal, Romania, Spain.
