Second Sundays is a monthly series initiated by Q-O2. Each session a new guest is invited to share an insight into their own listening, playing and speaking about a selection of sound and music that is important to their thinking or practice. The sessions try to put value on listening to recorded music in a social setting as a space for discussion. The series takes place on the second Sunday of every month,. Each session is paired with a cocktail-of-the-month, as decided by the invited guest.
For its 35th edition, Second Sundays invites Frederic Van De Velde of the Brussels/Rotterdam label Futura Resitenza. Join us in the listening room as we dive into the catalogue for full record side listenings from sound poetry and spoken word to abstract electronic and sound collage. There will also be limited copies of most of the titles in the catalog for sale.
Featuring works from:
Marc Matter, Yanik Soland, Mylan Hoezen, Lucy Liyou & Eric Frye, Josie Perry and more
Futura Resistenza operates somewhere on the edges of performance, music and the visual arts. Interdisciplinary at its core, for Futura Resistenza a concert is never just a concert and a record reaches far beyond just what meets the ear. The label invites musicians and artists with direct personal connections within its community, as well as people who they simply admire and want to see published or on stage. Futura Resistenza was founded by Frédéric Van de Velde, who formerly worked for WORM and DE PLAYER in Rotterdam and used to run a bedroom-sized music venue called Antenne.
