Pavel Tchikov works on a set up of handcrafted motor-driven mechanical instruments (bells and strings). Those intruments are played from a modular sytem, which is used not only to control them but also to process the outcoming signal and to ditribute it in a qudraphonic environment. The mechanical instruments have inbuilt infra-red sensors, reacting to the the movements of the audience and sending back control voltages to the modular system, creating interactions.

Currently the intruments are built and the the system is working.

The program of the residecy is :
• Improve the mechanics. For instance adding some ball bearings to the solenoids, in order to make the movements of the mechanics more perceptible.
• Experiment with more sensors in order to add more reactivity to the system (surrounding sonic space interactions, temperature, light, etc.)
• Create a narrative line for the performance.
