résidence
04/03/2024 - 31/03/2024

During her residency at Q-O2, Hannah Todt will focus on her research on vascular instruments. Her aim is to create contemporary forms of collective rituals through the reinterpretation of traditional craft techniques and found materials, resulting in performances and installations. Based on her interest in how historiography can be influenced by different forms of storytelling, she will concentrate her research on traditional Austrian wind instruments and their use in ritual contexts.
Hannah’s practice is characterized by a curiosity for the handmade or repurposed, for the rhizomatic intersection of processes drawn from everyday life. By discovering hidden possibilities of materials and playfully exploring them as musical instruments, she questions common notions of value and critically reflects on the relationship between creation and commodity, process and progress, and between sentimental and material value.
