I have been working in the Outer Hebrides, remote islands off the West coast of Scotland, on and off for the last ten years. Much of the work has been driven by wondering how the rich history of the islands can be experienced and interrogated through sound. In late 2013 The Hebrides Suite, a CD of compositions using field recording, interview and oral history material was released by Greunrekorder (http://www.gruenrekorder.de/?page_id=10760).
I will use this residency to make a new multichannel work which will tour Scotland and the islands in 2015.
