Nightshift
a dual screen video showing an empty room punctuated by the presence of windows. While the camera pan slowly like a video surveillance device, the space loops endlessly on itself.
Listening Ears
(in collaboration with Brigitte Hoornaert)
a video portrait of remaining parabolic sound mirrors scattered on the coast of England.
Stéfan Piat’s work focuses on recording and reproduction processes such as photography, video and sound, in combination with digital tools and installation. His projects explore the specificity of these techniques connected with ideas such as the relation to the landscape, the point of view, the duration. His use of technology paradoxically aims to slow down time and suspend attention.
During his residency Stéfan Piat will develop the soundtrack and setup of two on-going projects.
