“Well, shall we/think or listen? Is there a sound addressed/not wholly to the ear?”
-William Carlos Williams, “The Orchestra”
The words of this American poet clearly address the identity of sounds, and therefore also the identity of the performer who produces them. There is always a continuous question/interplay of to whom do they belong, to the mind or the ear, do we decide to control and manipulate them or do we just let them be, can the two even interact?
…the performer who can be both, the listener and the executor, a game of blurring the link between him self and the audience
….the context in which the sound are presented. A concert situation, a sound installation, or a
complete detachment from the execution of the musical task.
… a constant exchange between the “Framed” and the “Unframed”
