During his residency, Patrick Thinsy will be working on a new project mixing installation and sound work. His research will deal with smoke, and the various manners of apprehending smoke, of controlling it and fixing it on a video / photo / audio support. Which are the sounds generaly associated with smoke? What sounds do smoke-producing pills create when they are lit, while they are consuming and while they cool down? Which new sound language can be built around smoke? What is our relation towards time in a smoked-filled space? How to transcribe this new language, this new relation with time into a sonic work/environment?
