During my residency at Q-02, I’ll be working on developing a module that will allow me to compose music for solo cello and a fluorescent light. I’m very much intrigued by the idea of creating a piece with non musical elements and expanding and blurring the perception of musical performance and composition. The ideal outcome would be more through-composed piece rather than improvisation triggering the lights, although I’ll have to be open to all the possibilities since I’m starting from total scratch.
