Acid Lily will perform a DJ set answering to the question: What makes a DJ serious? We invite you to feel the environment where discs are jockeyed to search for the price of “seriousness.” We invite you to abandon solid approaches in favor of a dynamic and materialist search: Who’s DJing? Who’s listening? Where? Who’s missing? Are you serious?
This past week at Q-O2, Acid Lily and Castillo asked themselves questions on the reasons why they choose, at a given time and place, to practice DJing and editing—What’s the use of DJing and editing?—, and questions on their arts teaching experiences—What happens to queers while getting teaching jobs? Their research project stems from their teaching of The Art of DJing, a yearly seminar on epistemologies of editorial practices from Brussels queer standpoints at MULTI: Master in Editorial Practices at the Brussels Royal Academy of Fine Arts. The first iteration of the seminar was hosted in 2025 at Recyclart in Molenbeek.
Duration: 30 min. DJ set followed by ca. 10 minutes of Q&A
