t.r.a.n.c.e. is an ongoing collaborative project by hypnotherapist and artist Julia E. Dyck and sound artist Diana Duta, exploring the hypnotic trance state as a collective and transformative experience. To mark the release of their debut record on BBJTC, they propose a shared listening session. Each side of the record offers a 25-minute guided journey, a space for metaphoric, somatic, and sensory exploration through the subconscious.
Dian is a Brussels-based artist working with sound in hypnotic ways, with a background in art and socio-cultural linguistics. Her work focuses on concepts of mimesis and reiteration within the linguistic and the biosemiotic worlds, on embodied listening and how non-humans communicate. She makes works for radio, installations and experimental music as DIAN and is part of the t.r.a.n.c.e. community hypnosis project. In 2019, she founded Jambes, a recording studio commissioning new work by artists experimenting with sound and voice.
Julia E. Dyck is an artist and hypnotherapist whose multidisciplinary practice merges sound, performance, and expanded states of consciousness to explore the porous boundaries between body, technology, and the (sub)conscious. Rooted in relational and speculative methodologies, her work invites audiences into immersive experiences of collective transformation, using voice, vibration, and storytelling as portals to new modes of perception and presence.
