Rubén Patiño
Rubén Patiño is an artist based in Amsterdam who explores sound generated electronically and its potential to transform the perception of space. Patiño's practice tends to challenge standardized formats of presentation that blend the boundaries between concerts, public events, and installations. Solo or in collaboration, Patiño's works have been presented in festivals (Sonar, Unsound, CTM, Atonal, Rewire,...), museums, clubs, and galleries in Europe, America, Asia, Africa, Russia, and Australia. He has published on record labels such as Anòmia, Haunter Records, Diagonal Records, The Trilogy Tapes, Where To Now?, The Death of Rave, and Gang of Ducks.
Patiño is part of N.M.O., a "Fluxus techno/military space music" project together with Morten J. Olsen. He has also collaborated with Arnau Sala, Roc Jiménez aka EVOL, Olivier di Placido, and Daniele Guerini aka Heith.
Patiño teaches Sound Design at Design Academy Eindhoven.
