Noela Coelo Velasco & Garazi Navas
This performance by Noela Covelo Velasco explores the dissection of a body through the voice, and how the voice—examined through its multiple temporalities, fluctuations and textures—is, much like the rotating movement of lighthouse lamps, closely linked to memory. On this occasion, the piece is presented in collaboration with accordionist Garazi Navas, whose approach to the accordion is characterised by an intense physicality. The air within the accordion is compressed and stretched to create masses of sound that appear and disappear. Voice and accordion interact on a physical and material level, shaping sound with meticulous care and attention, connecting it to gesture, memory and time.
