Marie Raffn
Marie Raffn is a Danish visual artist who creates performative installations and sculptural sound pieces.
Her artistic process is methodical, as she spins on associative threads and etymologies - through flows and movement. Her works – mostly taking shape in video, audio, sculpture and text - have tendencies to be narrative. She works with choreographed spaces often in a critical activation of the exhibition space where the relationship between language, image and perception is reconsidered.
Marie Raffn (b. 1991 Copenhagen, DK) holds an MFA from Malmö Art Academy. Furthermore, she has studied at Cooper Union School of Art, New York and Akademie der Bildenden Künste, Vienna. Her most recent solo exhibitions include Backward Sway | Upper Beam | Forward Swivel | Lower Bound at Teak (Helsinki, FI) and Bladdernut Hum at Prám (Prague, CZ).
