Kerstin Fuchs is a freelance composer, performer and choir conductor living in Berlin. As a composer she is concerned mainly with processes of filtering, transformation and layering of pre-existing material. She performs (predominantly as a vocalist) contemporary music often involving text or other forms of non-traditional notation. She studied music at the Musikhochschule in Dresden and the University of the Arts, Berlin. Recent projects include a duo with Jessie Marino (cellist, New York), and a upcoming concert series (with James Orsher) involving non-specialist performers in addressing issues of contemporary music performance practice for the project space complice (Berlin).
