Jacob Vanneste
Jacob Vanneste is a Brussels-based musician, born in 1990. In 2013, he finished his Masters degree in Music in Percussion Performance, Cum Laude, at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels under Bart Quartier, Gert François, Bart Bouckaert and Benjamin Van Esser. He also studied audiovisual composition in Granada, Spain under Pedro Guajardo. The greater part of his artistic work is comprised of interpretation of contemporary repertoire (solo or ensemble), focusing particularly on electronic and performance music. Jacob always tries to search for pieces that reflect parts of society, history, politics or philosophy. Aside from that he works together with composers or other artists to make new creations. Furthermore, he has side projects with a duo Two Envelopes (percussion and harpsichord), quartet (Les Alchemistes – medieval music) and some other projects with dance. With his degree in pedagogy, he teaches about electronic music, experimental music, percussion and media in several Belgian music academies and gives workshops about soundscaping and percussion.
