George Dhauw
George Dhauw (Amsterdam 1994) is an artist working with sound, textile and paper, he builds installations and creates work for galleries.
Trained as a sound designer for theatre, George spent nearly a decade composing for directors like Ivo van Hove and institutions across Europe, including Internationaal Theater Amsterdam, Deutsches theater Berlin, Théâtre de l’Odéon in Paris and The Young Vic in London.
His recent work moves into autonomous installation, where sound extends the material itself. He is drawn to the moment just before a material tears, resonates or gives way. Working at a register of close, slow attention and amplified to the threshold of perception.
