As part of her residency, Lucía Xaxalxe invites participants to an afternoon dedicated to crafts and feminized labour, conversation and slowing down. This open studio session is designed as a « slow » space. Participants are encouraged to bring their own ongoing projects (knitting, darning, drawing, or writing, etc.) to work on in a shared environment accompanied by tea and informal discussion.
The goal is to create a temporary community of practice, moving away from the pressure of production and towards the rhythm of the hand. It is a moment to explore how manual repetition can facilitate listening and exchange. No previous skill is needed, if you don’t have any ongoing projects, Lucía will show you the basics of weaving with the materials needed to start.
