Signe Boe will present recent works, developed during her residency, and tell some anecdotes around them.
In her work she is currently interested in the status of the female voice: how it is objectified and how a humor (still) exists, that sexualizes the voice and the said. This has also been the focus of her residency.
During her residency at Q-O2 Signe has also worked on a binaural video documentation of a sound installation and thus the problematics of the relation between the three dimensional sound and the flat video screen. Furthermore she has been recording sound and video for a dance film.
Signe Boe (b. 1988, DK) works within the field of expanded cinema where flat and sculptural elements serve to support a time-based narrative. She graduated from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 2017. Her most recent solo shows include Kunsthal 44Møen and C.C.C. Projects in Denmark.
Live set by the Improvisers Duo”Guts’n’faders” (Contrabass: Margarethe Maierhofer-Lischka & Electronics: Peter Venus)
Since 2013, the duo guts’n’faders explores unconventional approaches towards sounding space, live electronics and instrumental virtuosity. Both musicians search for new ways of expression, engaging their audience in installative situations and acousmatic performances, where hierarchies between the instrument and the machine, as well as between artists and listeners are questioned and dissolved.
