Mario de Vega
Mario de Vega moved a few years ago from Mexico City to Berlin and has been working between the two cities ever since. He studied Sound and Stage Design for theatre in Mexico City and Sound Studies at the Universität der Künste in Berlin. Despite this emphasis, he works in a variety of media and overlaps relations between stability, failure, simulation and ambiguity with site-specific interventions, documentation, process-oriented projects, sculpture and sound improvisation. In the context of music, his practice explores the value of fragility and indetermination involving a wide range of customised interfaces. His work has appeared in different contexts throughout Europe, Mexico, North and South America, Russia, Korea and Japan.
