Aii is a multidisciplinary artist, basically she is a visual artist, her works mostly about body and anatomy by representing them through painting and installation using electronic, media art, and science. While her study formally trained at visual art, she also rooted in her local music scene. She explored between sound and visual and she has a big interest in performance. Recently she work as an art director and producer. She has participated in several International programs. Aii & Ikbal began working as a duo since 2007, cross-disciplinary experimental sound and visual project. Ikbal studied western classical guitar and music education, and Aii studied visual art, both at the Indonesian Institute of Art (ISI) Yogyakarta. At 2008 they found Ethnictro, one of the Yogyakarta based creative space with focuses on sound, performance, and music education. While developing their space and work for duo, they are also work for their own each projects until now. Their work mostly random, currently evolves transforming social issues, urbanism, history, and environment, in to sound art, visual, and three-dimensional installation works in various presentation format and collaboration with interdisciplinary artists around the globe. A lot of learning from the previous projects about the difference of life, the way of thinking, and cultures. The main interest is a changes in people's way of life, how the modernism and capitalism changes the tradition and culture.
