One of the main observations of the tekhn\u0113 project is that technological change often goes hand in hand with social change. For example, the emergence of electronic devices that have become musical instruments has changed not only the profile of creative artists, but also what we think of as music more generally.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Featured writers and artists<\/strong>&nbsp;are VNS Matrix, Melinda Rackham, Sholto Dobie, Julia Eckhardt, Giuliano Obici, Indra Menus, Celeste Betancur, Gloria Gonz\u00e1lez Fuster, Eleni Ikoniadou, and Verena Kuni. They are discussing topics such as cyberfeminism, the historicity of technology in relation to instrument building, Brazilian Gambioluthiery, DIY cultures in an Indonesian village, the artistic use of programming languages, data protection in Europe, a science fiction governmental report about social media, and a glossary in progress based on the tekhn\u0113 website.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/tekhne.website\/?partner=tekhne&amp;type=blogs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tekhn\u0113<\/a>&nbsp;<\/strong>is a collaborative project dedicated to exploring the emancipatory potential of technology in music and sound art. We are working on this alongside five other organizations: CTM Festival in Berlin, Germany; GMEA in Albi, France; Out.Ra in Barreiro, Portugal; Skanu Mesz in Riga, Latvia; and Trafo in Szczecin, Poland.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/tekhne.website\/?org=tekhne\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> tekhn\u0113&nbsp; <\/a>is funded by the European Union.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With much enthusiasm we would like to share the&nbsp; first issue of the tekhn\u0113 online journal, which outlines the field of DIY with its practices, cultures and politics, and is compiled by Q-O2.
