Elisa Ferrari
I work in sound, text, and moving image with a focus on collaborative and experiential research. To consider acts and implications of retrieval, I produce projects that manifest as installations, sound walks, artist books, and performance, often addressing or incorporating archival fragments. Recent exhibitions include Estuary at the Nanaimo Art Gallery (2018), lilithlithlithlithlith: through spiral upon spiral of the shell at the Western Front (2018). From 2013 to 2017 I worked as Events and Exhibitions Coordinator and Curator at VIVO Media Arts Centre. I collaborate regularly in live performance with sound artist and drummer John Brennan (dashes) and artist and composer Michelle Helene Mackenzie (tssst) among others. I live and work in Vancouver, unceded xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səl̓ílwətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) territories.
