Cis De Gendt (b. 1999, Bree, Belgium) is an artist-organizer and performer currently based in Den Haag. His interest lies in creating (or contributing to) situations informed by how sound/music is embedded in our everyday auditory experience; playing in his own practice with the aesthetical potential of playback and recording, amplification and performance, while thinking about choreography, attention, the participatory aspect in listening, and the beauty of the mundane, the accidental and incidental. Cis works with these interests in a twofold practice, working with the different perceptual effects of the event and its representation and the potentials that come with the recording or the performance format; thinking about their common demarcations - but also the instability of those.
