I observe how the dissolution of the ego becomes imperative for us to turn into humanity and pass through this pandemic moment together. An immersion in the abyss to listen to the silence, return to earth and look at life and the planet from the bond and not from a self that is an expanded illusion.

It is a difficult task to reconstruct what has been dissolved, to be someone again after having been nobody and to understand how, after visiting Nothingness, Everything becomes important and manifests itself as an inseparable part of being. “I is another,” Rimbaud wrote, “I is Everything else,” I would say. When this sensation is perceived, the only possible attitude is based on empathy and care despite how delicate it can be to adapt to the new vision of life.

The piece that I present is entitled ‘Care’, a stable and deep atmosphere that is listened to with the body, from which sound events emerge. These represent the manifestations of the ego in what should be a state of total dissolution.

Based on methodologies used by Eliane Radigue, the work contains sounds induced by the feedback of microphones installed in the room, waves caused by e-bow and stone on the strings of a piano soul, manifestations of nature in the city, some purely urban sounds like the sound of traffic lights that also remind me a lot of Eliane in her way of using percussive repetition generated by synthesis. The sound of the Earth collected with a geophone in the surroundings of the European Parliament and in the cathedral of Brussels (I am interested in the symbolism of sound, the sounds that represent a moment).
