Stéfan Piat’s work focuses on recording and reproduction processes such as photography, video and sound. This in combination with digital tools and installation. His projects explore the specificity of these techniques in relationship with ideas such as landscape observation, point of view, duration. His use of technology paradoxically aims to slow down time and suspend attention.

During his residency Stéfan Piat has worked on the development of two on-going projects :

Nightshift
a dual screen video showing an empty room punctuated by the presence of windows. While the camera pan slowly like a video surveillance device, the space loops endlessly on itself.

Listening Ears

a video portrait of remaining parabolic sound mirrors scattered on the coast of England
