‘Permafrost’ focuses on the central question in the work of Aernoudt Jacobs: how to transform the complexity, the affluation and the stratification of our environment to something that can be truly experienced.The installation follows the freezing process of water into ice. A thermal source will reverse the process. This cycle will be repeated continuously. Waterproof loudspeakers and microphones make the process audible.
