Permafrost is an environmental sound sculpture by Aernoudt Jacobs, entering the freezing process of water, dealing with the paradoxical relation between nature and technique. The crystallization process becomes sound source, the ice matter in progress becomes visible and audible through custom-made sound apparatus.
