Seijiro Murayama & Jean-Luc Guionnet
03/06/2009 - 20:30

Jean-Luc Guionnet is born in Lyon in 1966, he lives and works in France. He is a broadcast radio producer and a visual artist. He studied fine art and esthetic at La Sorbonne in Paris. He learned electroacoustic composition at music academies of Boulogne-Billancourt and Pantin between 1989 and 1993. He studied philosophy at « Centre d’Etudes Supérieur de la Renaissance » at Tours. Jean-Luc Guionnet plays in different groups of instrumental music, electroacoustic, expérimental music or free jazz with many international musicians. As a composer he wrote musics for friends and interpreters like Taku Unami, Taku Sugimoto, Masahiko Okura and Rhodri Davis.

Percussionist, Seijiro Murayama works in France since 1999 after almost 20 years of improvised music experiences. His artistic principal is especially to seek for the plural-disciplinity between music and other disciplines of art: danse, video, paintings, photos, litterature etc. Also in the same pluri-disciplinary way, he collaborates with many musicians, composers, and sound artists. For him, improvisation is always the major artistic concern. His approach is based on much attention to the space and the place, to the energy of the audience and to the quality of silence in various manners.
