During her residency Ruta Vitkauskaite will develop new work that will result in a project that is focused on the act of performing alone. Since she has been involved in many collaborations that resulted in collective staged multimedia performances over the years, the need grew to work individually as a classical composer. She will work on notated music to be performed. In addition to two projects she performed herself in the past (Violin Ritzos, a composition for violin and electronics, and Something Personal, a surround performance for one listener), she will compose a substantial piece that is incorporating personal interests and experiences. In this framework, a strong participatory element for the audience attending will be integrated too.
