Performatik 2011 > Dawn Scarfe: Tuning to Spheres / Agnes Meyer-Brandis: Space Travelling
28/02/2011 - 20:30

The lecture performance by Agnes Meyer-Brandis deals with art, science and weightlessness. The starting point is an artistic project that Agnes Meyer-Brandis conducted under weightless conditions, entitled Cloud-Core-Scanner. The experiment involved a microgravitygenerating flying manoeuvre that is usually restricted to scientific work and was carried out in collaboration with the DLR (German Aerospace Centre). Meyer-Brandis explores the boundaries separating fact and fiction, fantasy and technology.

Dawn Scarfe’s ‘Tuning to Spheres’ is a performance with wine glasses, a sinus tone generator and small speakers. She uses simple tools and methods to heighten our sensitive experience.
