Frederik De Wilde (°1975) lives in Brussels. He studied fine arts (MA), audio-visual arts(MA) & followed a pre-education in architecture, studied one year of philosophy and concluded his studies with a post-graduate degree in new media, arts & design at TRANSMEDIA (MA) where he was initiated in software programming.Furthermore, Frederik studied & worked abroad. For instance at the Johnson Atelier Technical Institute of Sculpture (USA) or as an artist and workshopleader for the Istanbul Museum of Contemporary Art. He collaborated with the University Leuven (KUL, Groep-T, new media engineers), the University Brussels (VUB, psychology) and the University Hasselt (UH, materialphysics).This scientific touch is blending in his artistic practice. For example; the project ‘Still Things,’ a multidisciplinary three-part project in the interstice between installation, performance and visual art. Cryogenic applications where used to stop or at least challenge biological processes and therefore, time itself. Together with art historian Ils Huygens he researched the process of freezing time.Frederik is regularly commissioned for making video-clips, trailers, soundscapes (The Kaaitheater -NRK, Argos vzw, Radio Klara, …). Jodi Rose is an artist, writer and composer who started listening to bridge cables in 1994, and created Singing Bridges. Made with field-recordings, on-site interventions and improvisation in collaboration with artists around the world, Singing Bridges is an urban sonic sculpture using the cables of bridges as musical instruments on a global scale. Jodi has traversed the globe from Helsinki to the Mekong Delta and now Belgium in an endless quest for bridge music. Her work is recently exhibited, broadcast & performed at ISEA, European Sound Delta, Pixelache, Transit Lounge, Liquid Architecture 9, soundmuseum.fm, Das Kleine Field Recordings Festival & Radio WNE. Rose imagines linking the sounds of bridges around the world in a Global Bridge Symphony, and is the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Prosperity for Cultural Consulat Rondeel.
