Ignaz Schick (Berlin) is a turntablist, sound artist, performer and composer, living and working in Berlin. He started as a saxophone player in the free jazz scene. After testing many different electro-acoustic set-ups, he developed a unique style of turntablism performing without records, but using a selection of objects (metal, plastic, paper, wood) directly on the metal plate. The vibrations are picked up and amplified with a special condenser microphone.
