James Saunders is a composer, and performs with the ensembles Parkinson Saunders and Apartment House. Since 2000 he has been working on an extended modular composition project, titled #[unassigned], which is flexible in terms of duration and instrumentation. Individual versions are made for each performance, through combining existing and newly-composed modules in a time structure, and performed only once. James lectures in composition and musicology at Bath Spa University in the UK.
