Eveline Vervliet
Composer Eveline Vervliet (º1997) looks for ways to connect music and art with contemporary developments like technological innovations, digital life and the climate crisis. In The Sound Of Waste, for instance, she has made sound art with waste. She ongoingly researches the artistic possibilities of artificial intelligence, such as in works with facial expression recognition and movement detection. Currently, she is studying with Anthony Fiumara at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Tilburg. In 2020, Eveline did an exchange study at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Stuttgart with teacher Martin Schüttler. She is a part of the group Collectief Publiek Geluid who focuses on creating sound in public space. In 2019, her composition Take Good Care of What You’ve Got for piano duo Nicolas Callot and Lucas Blondeel premiered in deSingel, Antwerpen. Moreover, her work has been performed during festivals like Transit Festival (Leuven, Belgium) and November Music (Den Bosch, The Netherlands), and in concert series like De Link (Tilburg, The Netherlands).
