Second Sundays #24 – Chris Dreier / ex-Die Tödliche Doris

Chris Dreier is a Berlin-based musician, photographer, radio-maker and artist. Between 1981 and 1982, she performed as part of the legendary West Berlin punk band and performance group Die Tödliche Doris. The group was founded by Wolfgang Müller and Nikolaus Utermöhlen in 1980. In the 1980s, Die Tödliche Doris performed music influenced by post-punk, French deconstruction theory, irreverent humour and contemporary art. They released records, gave recordings and made experimental film as well as collaborating with dozens of artists in the free scene of West Germany. . In 2018 Chris Dreier released together withWolfgang Müller the album SPRECHPAUSE based on old Doristracks at the fangbomb-Label.
For the first Second Sundays back after a lengthy hiatus, Dreier will work through her unreleased and archival cassette recordings from the band, re-performing and remixing them into her own solo-music and a slurry of other audio material. Meanwhile, a selection of rare Super 8 film from the archive of Die Tödliche Doris, Bremen will be projected.
